Rice for Tet Brings New Year Support to Elderly Families in Need Ahead of Tet
Nha Trang, Vietnam — As the Lunar New Year approaches, a small but meaningful project called Books for Dreams has brought warmth and support to elderly families living in poverty in Nha Trang. Through collaboration with a dedicated local team in Vietnam, provided essential food supplies to more than 20 elderly households ahead of Tet, Vietnam’s most important traditional holiday.
For many elderly individuals living alone or supported by limited family income, Tet can be a difficult time. While the holiday is usually marked by family gatherings and festive meals, those facing financial hardship often struggle to afford even basic necessities. Rice for Dream was created to address this challenge by ensuring that vulnerable seniors could welcome the new year with dignity and security.

Through the project, each selected family received a package of staple foods, including rice, noodles, and drinks, items that are essential for daily life and especially important during the holiday season. These supplies not only help cover immediate nutritional needs but also ease financial pressure during a time when expenses are traditionally higher.
As Vietnam prepares to celebrate Tet, the Rice for Dream project stands as a reminder that even small acts of kindness can carry great meaning. Through shared effort and commitment, Books for Dream and its local partners helped ensure that more elderly families could welcome the new year with hope, nourishment, and a sense of community.
