Bikes For Dream – a Project of Books for Dream partners with the Caritas of Phan Ri Cua Church to Deliver Bicycles to Students in Need
Phan Ri Cua Church, Binh Thuan Province — Books for Dream, a community-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting education, has successfully partnered with the local Caritas of the Church in Phan Ri Cua, under the Diocese of Phan Thiet, to deliver more than 30 bicycles to students from disadvantaged families. The initiative aims to support students who face daily challenges commuting to school due to financial hardship.
In many rural areas of Binh Thuan Province, transportation remains a major barrier to education. For students whose families cannot afford motorbikes or public transportation, walking long distances to school is often the only option. This can lead to fatigue, lateness, or even school absences. Recognizing this challenge, Books for Dream worked closely with Caritas Phan Ri Cua to identify students who were most in need of assistance.

The bicycles were awarded to over 30 students with ages 12-18. The selection process emphasized both financial need and commitment to education, highlighting students who demonstrated perseverance, responsibility, and a desire to continue learning.
“These bicycles are more than just a means of transportation,” a representative from Books for Dream shared. “They represent encouragement, recognition, and belief in the potential of these students. When a child has a reliable way to get to school, it removes one major obstacle from their educational journey.”
A local church representative expressed appreciation for the partnership, noting that small, targeted projects like this can create meaningful change. “This may seem like a small effort, but for these families and children, it has a lasting impact. We are grateful that Books for Dream chose to walk alongside us in serving our community.” Father Bao said.
As Books for Dream looks ahead, the organization hopes this partnership with Caritas of the Diocese of Phan Thiet will inspire future projects that continue to remove barriers to education and create brighter opportunities for students in need.
